This week across the world over more than 100 million kids are spending an hour to discover a little about writing computer code.
Hopefully, your child is going to come home super excited about the great success they achieved in the hour of code. Don’t let it stop there. The organization that sponsors this world wide event offers a plethora of resources to go deeper. Check them out. Challenge your kids to pursue one and learn for the joy of learning. Then, send me the question “How can they use these new coding skills to make a difference in the world.” I’d love to hear from you!

Try the Hour of Code at home (I liked the new Star Wars and Minecraft options with the really young!). https://code.org/learn
Check out my favorites to go deeper:
And while not a part of the Hour of Code, one of my all time favorite free resources for learning technology is the Computer Science Student Network
Locally, if you have an EV3 or Mindstorm – join Sanjay and Arvind Seshan Dec 12 or 13 for an Hour of EV3.
