App Made by World Youth Day Pilgrims
The Catholic Church’s World Youth Day will be held in Krakow, Poland July 25 – 31, 2016 welcoming nearly 2 million youth and young adults. I was invited, locally, to share some reflections on Pope John Paul the Great, with a local groups of pilgrims from St. Killian that are now on their way. Years ago, I wrote a brief Lenten reflection book for teens based on the World Youth Day letters of the pope who came from Poland, survived the Nazi’s, survived communism, and went on to become one of the most influential people of the 20th century. We had some fun during the presentation and created a simple mobile app. Fr. Levi, with his wonderful voice, contributed some a cappella music and each of the teens choose quotes from letters write to youth to include. The app is free in the Google Play Store. Please, enjoy the app as you watch the news unfold of the millions of pilgrims journeying to Poland for community, for inspiration and to witness to a vision of more just and beautiful world.
