There was a company in Glassport, PA that made Rebar from recycled material. They re-purposed steel from railroad rails, reheated them, and rolled them into rebar. It was a small operation, but showed what can be done with a little ingenuity and a heart for recycling. Some of the employees were steelworkers dislocated in the closign of U. S. Steel plants in the Mon Valley.
